Ground floor

The open-plan living room with double doors to the pool terrace, is a soothing place to lounge. It is furnished with large bright comfortable sofas, leather footstools, coffee table and lamp for mood lighting; fully equipped with LCD TV/DVD player, ipod dock and a large selection of DVD’s and book library.

From the lounge and taking centre stage is the double return open plan staircase to the first floor and beyond it the formal dining area with large mara wood table and comfortable rattan seating for 8 people with 2 chandeliers adding a touch of elegance and luxury. The double doors open onto the front veranda and side doors on to the jungle.

The ground floor living areas are cooled by overhead fans and has uninterrupted views of the lake to the front which can be reached at the foot of the gardens.

To the rear of the staircase is a guest cloakroom and beyond that the large, fully equipped kitchen with vaulted ceiling and separate utility room. The kitchen comprises of a large 5 ring gas hob and burners in the central island, built in microwave and oven, dishwasher, drinks chiller and fridge freezer. There is an additional chest freezer and an American style, large capacity washing machine, in the utility room found after a small corridor to the rear.


First floor

Taking the double return open plan staircase comprising of mezzanine floor to the first floor hallway you will find magnificent wooden vaulted ceiling with suspended Moroccan coloured glass pendant light and walls adorned with oil paintings by local artist Dileepa (of Saffron Robes Gallery, Galle Road) leading to the 3 luxurious double bedrooms

Off the first floor to the left side is the master bedroom with kingsize platform bed and suspended mosquito net, built-in wardrobes, dresser, bedside lockers with crystal lamps with double aspect picture windows overlooking the pool, garden and lake to the front and jungle to the side and ensuite wetroom.

The second and third double bedrooms are found to the right side of the mezzanine landing comprising of similar furnishings to the master bedroom and with balconies overlooking the pool, gardens and lagoon beyond.

All the bedrooms have air conditioning units and overhead ceiling fans, as well as a safe.



The entrance to the villa is dominated by the awe inspiring and ancient cashew nut tree, around which the property was built and which provides a morning feast to the lagoon monkeys when the fruit is in flower in April.

The infinity edge pool is surrounded by freshwater river stones and grand clay Romanesque style urns. There are teak wood sunloungers in the garden area; a perfect spot to sunbathe during the day

The giant mahogany tree bordering the pool area (floodlit at night) is also spectacular.

Casting and still water fishing is possible from the jetty stretching onto the lake. Fresh fish, Prawns and crabs may be purchased direct from canoes gliding past.

As the garden leads down to the lake, the cabana area, with its water garden, is approached by gently sloping wooden steps, beyond a granite rock wall and is a joy to behold with its scented tropical flower borders, lotus pond, water feature and circular  terracotta tiled roof and decked area; a cool spot to chill out, take a siesta and escape the mid day sun in the enticing and comfortable hammocks.

The housekeepers cottage which is screened from the main house, pool and cabana has its own herb and spice garden for especially fresh cooking ingredients.

Outside, the dining area, facing the lake, is a covered verandah with comfortable rustic 8 seater wooden table, benches and log stools.
